imageIt's a very regular occurrence in our coaching and practice that someone will ask for help with reducing the carb intake of theirs. Often (but not always) it's as they want to lose some weight.
When the average person talks about carbs in this feeling, Access here (www.southwhidbeyrecord.com) they are not talking about the valuable carbs (fresh fiber) found in veggies which are fresh, for instance. They're usually speaking about those troublesome "starchy carbs".
Honestly, it is not such a lot needed help with decreasing the consumption of theirs, since that could simply be a matter of keeping your mouth closed but not eating it! What they really wish is help with decreasing their intake and not feeling spoiled or deprived in the process.
While there are lots of directions we could take with this little carb reducing journey, these're 4 of the main points I usually make with patients from the commencement.
1) It's important to understand what you're working with.
Many people continue to think I am talking about adding a "spoonful" of sugar to their coffee when I ask about their sugar consumption, as well as they think about what this is because of their "carb" issue. I've had huge consultations wherein somebody tells me they do not use sugar, or they don't add sugar to any foods, or maybe they do not even have sugar in the house... simply to play them tell me 5 minutes later they start the morning of theirs with a bowl of cereal, or a bagel, or a portion of toast, or perhaps a flavored coffee on the method to your workplace.
Next, it's their sub or sandwich at lunchtime, and also the pasta or pizza for dinner, the power drinks and pop, the snack foods, additionally, on and on.
It's not simply the Mary Poppins spoonful of sugar. It's all of the foods, beverages, along with various components that transform fast (and also in excess) to glucose. That's among the biggest problems with "carbs".
